It's the end of the year and you are looking a new year in it's face. You think of all of the things you wish you would have done and instantly begin to make resolutions for the new year. "I will lose 15 pounds, read more books, be on time for work, learn a new skill...." The list goes on and on. The first week you are motivated and fully invested in this resolution. By the end of the month you may not be as consistent but it is still at the forefront of your mind. By March you have already given up and said you will focus on it next year.
Why do we do this to ourselves? I believe it's because resolutions are normally not well thought out goals which then turn into pipe dreams that leave us feeling frustrated. I know because I've been there time and time again.
Instead of creating resolutions every year I create my intentions for the year. The difference between a resolution and intention is that my intentions are things that I INTEND to do. I state my goal, develop a plan and try my best to achieve it. I feel like this gives me permission to go at my pace and not beat myself up if I fall. I gently dust myself off and try again.
Since we are a over a quarter of the way through 2022 I would like to share my intentions for this year with you and tell you where I am on my journey. I hope this encourages you to 1) be kind to yourself 2) set goals and develop a plan to make it happen and 3) celebrate along the journey (that's the fun part).
Health Goals:
Cook 2-3 times per week (I currently cook 0-1)
Take my lunch to work 2-3 times per week (I currently bring my lunch 0-1)
Workout 4 times per week (I currently workout 2 times per week but I'm doing 3 this week)

Have 200 subscribers on my blog (I'm almost there!)
Schedule content on a monthly basis (I plan my content at the beginning of every month)
Read 6 books (I've read 3)
Read a marketing article once a month (I've been listening to podcasts)
Spiritual Goals
Participate in women's ministry at church (Will begin this summer)
30 minute daily devotional and prayer time (I spend time with God first thing in the morning by doing a devotional and prayer but I don't time it).
As you can see I am crushing goals in some areas and I have work to do in others but I will continue to push towards my intentions. I'll give you another update later on this year. I hope this encourages you!
Hugs and Curves!
